Safe Shopping Guide: Blacklisted Stores & Discount Dilemma

As the old saying goes, "If it seems too good to be true, it probably is." This is especially true when shopping AV products online and coming across deals that offer unusually high discounts or very low prices compared to everywhere else. Often, these tempting deals are actually red flags that could end up costing you time, money, or personal information if you aren't careful.

Beware of online resellers or dealers offering prices that seem too good to be true. There are a few reasons a disreputable dealer may try to lure you in with unrealistic discounts:

1. Outdated Model

Trying to sell old model or outdated products, the oldest trick in the book for such sellers. The products may work fine but won't have the latest features. It's their way of making room for the new while leaving you with outdated technology.

2. "R" Rated Products: Rejecting Quality for Cost

Selling "R" or rejected grade products. These products typically have cosmetic flaws or other quality issues that justify markdowns. However, defects may not always be disclosed.

3. Black-Listed Dealers

Reputable dealers understand the value of their products and price them accordingly. If you come across a seller consistently offering rock-bottom prices, it's time to question their legitimacy.

4. No After Sale Service [Even in Warranty]

No after sales service or warranty support. Even for products still under warranty, authorized service centers would refuse to provide service on items from dubious sellers. Replacement parts can be prohibitively expensive, so if your product got issues you might as well throw it out.

5. Scammers in Disguise

Outright scam by dealers who take orders but never deliver products, deliver used or damaged goods instead of new ones, or overcharge your credit card. Beware bait-and-switch tactics.
